Global Partnership

India

Through the British council, we have been developing a link with a school in India and sharing our learning experiences. Through this partnership classes in both schools have been learning about how to live in a more sustainable way, and how we can be looking after our environments. This link was established last year and is part of a continuing project. It is a wonderful opportunity for teachers and children from both   countries to raise awareness of sustainability, and the impact we have on the environment.

India

Teachers from both India and Hotham have had the opportunity to visit the partner schools and gain first hand experiences. Both schools also have access to Fronter and are enjoying sharing their learning experiences. This is a link that we are looking forward to developing even further in the future.

 Visitor From Delhi (November 2013)

Mrs Vashisth, Headteacher from our link school in Delhi visited Hotham again.  The children enjoyed welcoming her back to Hotham and were  impressed that she remembered a lot of their names. It was an enjoyable week, where Mrs Vashisth spent a lot of time with the Year 5 classes working on the joint project between the two schools, looking at sustainable energy.  The children in both schools are communicating to each  other via Fronter, where they have been posting questions for each other to  answer.

The highlight of the week was Year 5’s performance  of ‘Bollywood Dance’ and Mrs Vashisth demonstrating some of the dance moves.  Both Year 5 and 6 joined in the dance lesson and at lunchtime there was a big ‘Bollywood Dance’ in the playground!

Next term, two teachers from Hotham will visit Ramajas Nursery Primary School Baradari , Ballimaran.
