Reading

Reading remains one of the most important activities that you can do with your child. Reading anything and everything develops not only accuracy, fluency and expression but also a love of reading. Children have access to books online.

Planning your day

Do what works for your family.  Teachers have sent out suggested timetables which may work well for some children.  Families with siblings may find it easier to work together, and the children will learn a lot from each other. Please make sure you build in breaks for all of you.

Everybody's well-being is important. There are lots resources on television currently which you can also use to support learning.

And there is a lot of learning in Lego and construction at any age! Handwriting practice is always a winner for some down time each day.

Editing work – "purple pen"

Please go through the work your children completes with them. 1:1 feedback is really helpful for all children. Years 1 - 6 are well practised in correcting and improving their work with a purple pen. If you haven't got purple any colour will work.

Be active

Exercise and breaks are important too. Download the GoNoodle App or go onto the website www.gonoodle.com or tune into Joe Wicks on YouTube every morning at 9am https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1 .  Mr Gale is also running daily online PE challenges via his Twitter and Facebook page: SG Sport Coaching, or his Instagram page: Mr Gale Instagram workout.  Other options are on Paul Cook fitness's You tube page: Paul Cook Kidzcamp LIVE!
