Recruitment

Thank you for your interest in working at Hotham.

We pride ourselves on being a great place to work – Hotham is a thriving school with a real community spirit. Visitors always remark on the welcome they receive from staff and children.

The school has a fantastic location in the heart of Putney. We are minutes away from the unique Putney Embankment and River Thames, and within walking distance of Putney High Street, which is well connected by tube, bus and rail. We have lower than average attrition for an inner city school with many of our staff with tenure of over 20 years.

At Hotham our focus is on achievement and opportunity for all, including our staff, and we take professional development very seriously. We are always looking to build and capitalise on potential within our staff team.

Get into teaching

Hotham  is proud to work in partnership with Wandsworth Primary Schools’ Consortium (WPSC) supporting their outstanding programme of School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT).  Since 1996, WPSC has been accredited to train graduates to teach 3-7 and 5-11 year olds in primary schools.  The course provides trainees with the theoretical and practical experience needed to meet the standards for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the award of a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education with credits towards one third of a master’s degree. Their inclusive ethos ensures a highly supportive and personalised approach to learning with Ofsted noting that "Leaders across the consortium have very high aspirations for all trainees. The ITE curriculum has been meticulously designed to build confident, knowledgeable and reflective practitioners in the primary phase" (2023).

SCITT also offers an Assessment Only Route for experienced, unqualified teachers already working in the UK.

Full details can be found on the Wandsworth SCITT website: http://www.scitt.co.uk
